Current Assignment in the College of Education and Human Sciences:
1. I am or have taught classes in family studies including family policy, family theories, research methods, marriage and family, and Islam and Muslim families, family stress and coping.
2. I am an active researcher publishing 3-4 articles each year. I am currently working in two areas of youth sexual behavior: (1) encouraging adolescent abstinence, and (2) understanding the development, emergence and change in sexual orientation of teens and young adults.
I believe that science is mainly about finding useful theories that work in the real world to improve the lives of individuals and families.
