Current Assignment in the College of Education and Human Sciences:  
Michelle Rupiper is currently an Associate Professor of Practice and the Director of the Ruth Staples Child Development Laboratory at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where she has taught since 1994. Her belief that children deserve well-prepared, competent teachers who understand how children learn and are equipped to meet their needs has resulted in her conducting numerous national, regional and state presentations as well as presentations to faculty in Australia, Mongolia, Kenya and China. She is active in the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), having served on the National Affiliate Council of NAEYC and as president of the Midwest AEYC and Nebraska AEYC. She is currently on the board of the National Coalition for Campus Children’s Centers. Past awards include the Swanson Award for Teaching Excellence, College of Education and Human Sciences Outstanding Lecturer Award, Distinguished Service to Children awarded by Nebraska Association for the Education of Young Children and the Shirley Dean Catalyst for Change awarded by Midwest Association for the Education of Young Children. She earned a bachelors degree from the University of Northern Iowa, M.A. from the University of Nebraska-Omaha and a PhD from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
